Itxogana This climb up the mountain was made for the north side. So far we have always gone up the south side taking as its starting point the people of Zaita / Azaceta or from the top of the pass of the same name.
As time goes something messy and might break to rain, it was decided this short path, unknown to me, to the top of Itxogana.
But this time we will penetrate in a beautiful beech Intxozabal going up the ravine to the hermitage of San Bitor in the area known from this point Latanka to crown the top of Itxogana nearby.
The route can be started from the village of Gaunt, along to the source, at the end of the village or continue on the track to the platform where once stood the Basque Railway Station Navarro, Greenway today.

0.00 h. Esplanade
From the esplanade where we left the vehicle starts a dirt road east that soon takes a turn of 90 degrees and takes due south into the forest. To our left is the remnant of what was once a bridge crossing the tracks avoided Basque Railway Navarro.
We passed an irrigation pond on our left in a somewhat elevated level.
The track takes us to the edge of the beech, but did not get there, follow the wide track that seems to skirt around it, leaving it to our right and farmland to our left (8 ').
saving gap hardly walk up to a new irrigation pond (13 '). The track now enters the beech forest and five minutes later we have the first branch (18 '). Follow the track on the left. Six minutes later another one appears
fork, here are also going to take the ramp on the left. The minute you stop this bifurcation appears another.

Here we find the trail down the left and the right amounts. It takes the right track. We will see some stone markers indicating the diversion and an old wooden cross supported a few meters ahead on the right side of the track. Here the slope of the track is taking more inclined ...... is what is climbing.
