This time we will take a leisurely stroll through this beautiful part of the Natural Park of Izki.
In our case, the rise of this discrete Peña somewhat unknown to find something hidden in the tops and Soila Muela, gave a touch of "downhill" to the family circle.
The lap itself is of no difficulty, but if you want to climb the Castle Rock .... things get complicated.
And of course, access to the Rock is not free. There Curran. The first climb had good points to set the hands and feet but by the second and final ....., the climbing area became difficult and we turned around. It happens sometimes.

0.00 h. Calle Mayor
from the entrance to Korres and the journey along the high street direct to the Parish Church of San Esteban in the upper town. Here we follow the wide track of land for the Trail Antoñana.
Five minutes later we left the cemetery on our right. Two minutes after we pass a cemetery fence. To the right of it is a wooden door that prevents open the barbed wire that cuts the road. Little by little to our right is making Buxanda Ravine, crossed the river Izki. And on the cliff tops emerge Muela (left) and Peña del Santo (Right).
front of us overlook the silhouettes of Soil and Peña del Castillo, separated by a small hill by which we must pass. Somewhat later
see a track that goes to our left. We do not continue on the case and we bring that is signposted as "Path Antoñana." Five minutes after the wide track width is transformed into a curved path and it is forked. We left the path of left, which leads to Soila, and continued by the right that we leave in 2 minutes.

narrowly trail climbs steep sections towards Castle Rock. First we find the rock step on something hidden in the forest. Some brands of dark red paint, some worn, which can guide us. What if we are to find a path with
very closed sections by vegetation, which indicates that we are passing through an area where hardly anyone goes. Once this first zone of rock is reached by steep slope to the remains of the castle walls. A wide gap in the wall lets us pass the other side.
Once inside the enclosure, totally taken over by vegetation, is sought, not always successfully, the diffuse path that leads us to the next difficulty. Note that the area is closed and is not always clear the way to go, because sometimes it seems that not lead anywhere and can appear surrounded by thick vegetation, but the nearby presence of the top of the Rock makes sense the route.
If we walk over the remains of a wall will enjoy a splendid view of the Natural Park of Izki.
And after falling a few meters reached the base of a wall where you have to make another short climb. A lone yew appears to be here. At the top of the rock had only a blanket of loose soil as a grip, the other points or were too far or too low.
spent a long time looking for ways to increase without suffering a mishap, but the slope was on both sides of the passage ended abruptly in a short ......, so there could be errors on the day of "autos" we were somewhat thick and did not see it very clearly.
The truth is that before the step did not seem anything special, but when your head says do not let it be ......, and the next time may be so.
So we decided to turn around and return to the Path of Antoñana. We follow the boot path and soon after we went through a fence. After this, just five minutes, we will look at a turning on your right that leads to a viewpoint.

1.00 h. Mirador
From this vantage, vacuum protected by a wooden railing, we have a closeup of the Rock the Castle on your right (west) and further south Muela tops and Santo Peña are accompanying us throughout the journey. Behind us is the southern slopes of soil.
you back to the path and continue our pleasant journey. Crossed by a curious passage carved into the rock. Shortly before arriving at the Mirador we reached the little hill that separates Soila Castle Rock, so you walk in gentle descent.

1.10 h. Fence / Crossing Ski
The path leads to a new fence. And the other side we see a bifurcation of tracks. We ignore that amount to your left and continue along the main descending.
Two minutes later it joins a wide track.
At the crossroads we find a post with the directions that follow. If you turn left to arrive Antoñana. As our intention was to give a short stroll through this area (... well, the truth is different, we wanted the Rock!) And we do not extend more this trip, we decided to turn right back Korres .
This area offers many different combinations being the most attractive, if it wants to top, to continue from this point to address Antoñana Hagin Trail and ascend it Soila.
The descent on the other side where the descent path joins the Trail Antoñana coming from Korres, which is why we have gone (there's a picture of this crossing at the beginning of the route). The wide track leads to a new crossing.

1.30 h. Ski Cross
Another well signposted junction. The track down to our left leads to the town of Bujanda. For us this is the lowest part of the Barranco de Izki. From here we climb the cliff Izki leaving the river to our left.

Soon we Aranbaltza Dam. One more dam 100 years retains Izki river in this narrow spot. Of this prisoner out a channel that they transfer water to the power plant Antoñana.
