Alaiza Although it has been chosen as the start of the ascent, the vehicle we stop in the town of Alangua and we go through this journey, paved runway to Alaiza, with the cool morning.
Thus, once the route along the crest, which leaves us Alangua decline, we avoid the walk in the sun on the track to return back to Alaiza.
Although the rise is recommended in spring and autumn by the beauty of the forest in these times, coming up with this discreet Mount Snow also has its charm.
If we are good we can approach Gaze time and see the paintings of the church.
can also visit the dolmen "Sorginetxe" in Arrizala, locality where we Agurain back.

Circular Route
Since we moved to Alangua Gasteiz via Agurain. Follow the motorway until the exit Irun Agurain - Opakua. We Opakua bound to leave this road at the junction where we Arrizala and crossed to access Alangua.
crossed all the people to the church. The car we can leave it behind at the end of the village.
In total we will have traveled about 38 kilometers.
Can also be accessed via Dulantzi; are fewer miles but the roads, two-way traffic, are more curved and more narrow.

back toward the entrance to town and before it found a narrow road on the left. The road to the right is the one we used to enter Alangua from Agurain. We take this track
paved the left that just has traffic and links the town with Egileor.
In this time of year dominated by cereal, which has not yet been harvested, covering "gold" these fields which until recently were
bright green.
This track converges in the A-4112 comes from Agurain.
turn left, towards a visible corner, and followed it to Egileor.
crossed all the people to pass along to the parish church of Egileor, after this, on the left, we find Lekedana street.
is time to take this road and leave the village. Paved road again we continued our approach to people of Alaiza, true starting point of this little circular journey.
No place to make the trip this way but the fact finish the tour of the mountain next to the car (which in our case was at about 14 pm and the sun was coj ..) is when pleased to have started the walk on the tarmac at sunrise, when the sun is barely warm.

Since the source drive to the mountain visible from the only road possible. Just out of town find a fork and take the right path. It seems that we left the mountain and that is because our goal is to reach the road and find a solitary house.
ended at the road (6 ') and continue a few yards left to the lonely house. Next to it is a track. We left the road and leave the abandoned house on our left to take a dirt road that goes to our mountain.
continue along it and at any given time, (4 'from the abandoned house) before reaching a curve to the left, find a detour. We left the track and take the exit that goes out to our left. The track is oriented toward the south. Later it disappears at the height of a raft we leave to our left on a higher plane but allows a path skirting a room and access to another track that goes into the forest (5 'yaw).
Anyway the track we found is the same as we left earlier.

went into the beech forest and wide track. Started to rise, first slowly, but increased the slope as we go through this beautiful forest landscapes. For a short time we will match the GR-25 or Return to the Plains so we'll see some brands of GR (red and white), which paid no attention. Continue all the time for the primary runway bring in about 20 minutes (in the rainy season it tends to be muddy).
After sustained rise leads to a small landing. In front we see the track, while making a right curve, start a new txanpa. Just went up for a minute when we leave at a point where it gives the feeling that blends into the forest. A highlight of stones indicates the detour.
Now, for the path that travels along the hillside, we will save barely rising slope until you get to a ledge of rock that we must overcome.
A fence to the right of the rock gives us a way through it to highlight the surrounding rock. The beech seems not to want to follow and stays behind.
After several loops, cleared land now is reached Port Luzk.

We left the forest reached the port of Luzk, obvious step toward the ridge crest of Santa Elena. We trace the strong
grassy slope along a fence to the left of the port, up to the top without further incident.

2.00 h. Top of Santa Elena
The summit is a trig point and a mailbox Hiking Society Manuel Iradier installed in November 1963. We will also see a cross placed one meter by the same company. The plaque reads "In memory of the hermitage of Santa Elena that existed here and disappeared between 1764 and 1784, and 1 Belen, near the apex.

From the dense vegetation of Santa Elena just let us see, but if we go straight to an excellent viewpoint over of the trowel.
The northern mountains of Durangaldea, Anboto Elgea Mountains, Urkilla, Aizkorri, Altzania and a huge amount of people, and highlighting Agurain Alaiza the foot of Mt.
Eastward Larredez and Arrigorrista are discovered in the mountains of Iturrieta. In the Northeast will see Ballo / Baio, and Sierra Txindoki Aralar. The forest hides the south side, but if we go a little top is the village of Onraita, the highest in Aruba with 962 meters of altitude, in the southeast.
Luzk From the port is visible and the Sierra Joar Toloño. To the west are Indiagan, Itxogana, and Sierra Kapildui Arzeno. In the northwest are Gasteiz, Sierra de Badaia and Gorbea Massif.
After we enjoyed splendid views from near the top of Santa Elena, we follow the path marked by the crest of the mountain is visible heading towards the Soil. "A long antenna? or measuring element for the possible installation of another wind farm in this area reveals the location of the clear top, as its name indicates.
We entered the forest that covers our tour reaches the crest of the mountains of Iturrieta. The path is very strong although there are areas in the forest litter dilutes .... but it is very obvious route. We will also find paint marks PR (two parallel lines, one yellow and one white).

We left the forest behind and overlooking a large grassy meadow before us. The stone markers are in the middle of prairie without reaching the cut. Leaving a milestone moment and we got to the top of Soil. At the top there is no mailbox, just a small pile of stones reveals the top. Very near the top is a large "antenna? or something.
continue our journey towards visible forest. We went down a bit to reunite again with brands (stone markers). Some parts are very tight in the bushes, but only a few meters, then in the woods and open spaces displayed the marks of PR in the trunks of trees.
Now it down to the Port of San Juan. Within five minutes of Soil, within the beech forest, we found a well marked road crossing by a post-directional.
walked through the PR-A-73 and this is where we come from Onraita path that forks at this point: to the west, towards Santa Elena, which is the road we have traveled, and to the East, which is where we will continue towards Atxuri / Larredez. Five minutes poster PR-73-A of the beech and we started to see the first palomeras stationed near the cut. We are only 10 'to reach the Port of San Juan.
port few meters before we pass an iron cross installed by the Club Alpino Manu Aguarin Yankees in 2004 in memory of the Hermitage of San Juan that existed in that place and also in memory of which was the first president of the club died that year (1946-2004).

A track across the harbor. To the right leads to the town of Onraita and left behind a metal door, go down to The Plain. We continue our journey leaving the cliffs to our left. Three minutes pass by a fence at the height of a columbarium.
Later, just five minutes from the fence, we will the other dimension with a "antenna? similar to the one installed in the Soil. Fifteen minutes after the summit is crowned Atxuri / Larredez, secondary and headlined top of Arrigorrista.

The clear top is a geodesic and the typical mailbox Mountain Club Gazteiz installed January 1, 1981.
This summit is also among municipalities muga-Maeztu Arraia East, North Agurain and Entzia Parzonería of the West, so you have to cross a fence to continue our path.
As has happened in Santa Elena and Soil, the panoramic view we have on the Plain is spectacular, as well as on the mountains of Elgea, Urkilla, Aizkorri, .........

Five minutes from the summit we reached a small hill called Arrizala Pto.
is the one and still have a mountain to reach ratillo Arrigorrista ......, themselves that decide to end this journey and begin the descent into Alangua. Another day will be the circular Alangua - Arrigorrista - Puerto Arrizala - Alangua and everyone is happy.
A highlight of stones (cairn), on the other side of the fence that separates the towns of Agurain with the Parzonería of Entzia, show us the way down. No opening or passage in the fence, so we have to cross each other as possible (in this case we pass under it without going to crawl).
crossing the wire, a marked path on a grassy mantle us into the beech forest. Within the forest
get the feeling that the path becomes way across it seems, but soon again become the beautiful path that descends hillside making several loops. Have to descend about 400 meters, so that the drop will be, in some places, very strong. So you have to book this tour for good weather, wet ground because you can download .......... very fast.
At 20 'the start of the decline will come to a fork. Take the one that descends to the right.
In a clearing in the fall we see the top of Ballo / Baio and the tip of the Cross of Mirutegi.
It continues to fall and in just over five minutes out of the woods and meadows is reached.
The dirt track at the end of them. Turn left. And you see the rooftops of Alangua.

Already in the dirt track crossed a metal door and arrived in less than five minutes at the back of town, right where we left the car parked in the morning. Now we only have changed the shirts cut down on sweating by other AGURAIN clean and go to take a refreshing beer to round off this nice and smooth driving on the hills of Iturrieta.

After crowning the hill of signboard, to 2,640 meters, the imposing presence of Viñamala Zerbillonar broker / Vignemale, we will seduce and astonish.
All you have to great and amazing this journey, has it tough. It offers no technical complication but the time spent, the terrain, the cliffs will "invite" them to the occasional rodeo and steep slopes that must be saved to harden around ....., I found it very hard (though not surprisingly, with the absence of physical activity performed during the week).

see the Spa complex "down there" but, damn .... which is costing reach them.
